Micro-blogging platform Twitter is gearing up to roll out a new subscription service ‘Twitter Blue’ which will provide users with a wide variety of features in lieu of a monthly fee.
The news was shared by Twitter itself in the iOS App Store. Meanwhile, famed researcher, Jane Manchun Wong, one of the first paying customers, also revealed some details about the new ‘Twitter Blue’ service.

Twitter Blue subscription price:
In order to use the ‘Twitter Blue’ service, users will have to pay a monthly subscription to utilise the add-on features and to enhance their on-platform experience. Users will have to pay a monthly subscription of USD 2.29 (Rs 177) per month, and it is the latest paid offering.
What is Twitter Blue and its features?
The social media giant had informed that it is working on all fronts on a paid service to provide a premium set of features to the users. The confirmation of the subscription service came after the Twitter app’s listing on the app store mentioned a new in-app purchase.

Some of the features of Twitter Blue:
1.Coloured themes: The new ‘Twitter Blue’ will offer users different coloured themes and custom icons. Users will now have a large number of options to select from different colour themes. One can also change the app’s colour to red, green, yellow, orange and others.
2. Undo Tweets: Users will now get the option to undo tweets if they start using Twitter Blue services. The new option will enable individuals to retract their sent tweets within seconds of posting them. It could also assist users in catching their grammatical mistakes.
3.Reader Mode: Reader Mode will help the users to convert tweet threads into easy to read text. With the help of Reader mode, one can merge all the tweets into a single screen. However, this feature is still in development mode.
4.Bookmarks collection: The collection for Bookmarks will help the users to categorise their saved tweets into one folder. With this exclusive feature, users can spend more time managing their favourite content and will be useful in eCommerce listings.
5.App icons: If you subscribe to Twitter Blue, you can choose from various custom icons. The custom icons are available in various colour options like pink, purple, yellow, orange and blue.
Twitter Blue launch date
Twitter Blue is expected to hit the markets soon but as of now, there has been no official statement on the launch date. Recently, Twitter acquired Scroll which is a subscription service that eliminates advertisements from news websites. Reports suggest that Scroll might also be bundled along with the new feature of Twitter.
