Twitter user creates in-depth thread defending Tua Tagovailoa

Twitter user creates in-depth thread defending Tua Tagovailoa thumbnail

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is only heading into his second season in the NFL. Now as the starting quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, he’s barely had time to adjust following a brutal hip injury against in 2019 Mississippi State that almost ended his career.

Still, that isn’t enough to keep the absurd amount of haters from criticizing every move the former five-star quarterback makes nowadays.

Most recently, it was Tagovailoa talking about not knowing Miami’s playbook “really, really good” and that has somehow turned into massive criticism on social media. The attacks have been all over the place, but one Twitter user has had enough.

He goes by Reason (or @the_real_reason) and his Twitter handle is pretty accurate, if this post is any indication. In order to see the entire thread, you’ll have to click on it and then scroll through, but trust me, it is worth it.

A thread:

I’m going to address this Tua playbook thing because it seems a lot of people are incapable of reading between the lines.

Tua never said he didn’t know the playbook he said he “really, really good”, notice the stress on really twice? 1/16

— Reason (@the_real_reason) May 29, 2021

At this point, we’re going to have to wait until the season gets underway for Tagovailoa to silence his doubters, but there are plenty of reasons to buy into why that can — and should — happen.

He’s got a better understanding of the playbook, he’s had more offseason time with his teammates and the overall talent and depth around him on the offensive side of the football has been drastically improved.

Expect a massive step forward in his second season.

Le’Veon Bell rips Adam Gase-era Jets on Twitter

Le'Veon Bell rips Adam Gase-era Jets on Twitter thumbnail

The future is bright at One Jets Drive with Robert Saleh running the show, but it wasn’t too long ago that Florham Park was a hopeless place under Adam Gase’s watch.

Gase ran the Jets into the ground throughout his two years with the team, making New York the laughingstock of football for the majority of 2020. Le’Veon Bell was one of many who was part of the trainwreck for a year and a half before his unceremonious release midway through last season.

On Thursday, Bell took to social media to provide some insight into just how bad the Gase era was, taking shots at his former team in a series of tweets.

money wise, somewhat…other than that, hell no https://t.co/rBWrVAPxrX

— Le’Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 27, 2021

lol the only difference with the steelers was they gave me opportunity… haven’t had that since I left, I probably need to play for a defensive minded head coach instead of these offensive minded guru’s … https://t.co/JAT50XUm23

— Le’Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 27, 2021

I had more touches in 2017 for the steelers than I had my entire time with the jets… that’s what I mean by “opportunity” weirdo https://t.co/mT4fXogHqI

— Le’Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 27, 2021

I don’t consider a “HB dive” on 3rd & short of 4th & short EVERY TIME is an opportunity…we line up & they callin out the play, that’s not opportunity, on top of the play being a dive…I can’t make sh*t shake with that

— Le’Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 28, 2021

While Bell’s gripe with the way his time with the Jets went is somewhat warranted, there are some holes in his argument. Bell finished eighth in the NFL in touches with 311 in 2019. That does not play into his theory that he was not given enough opportunities to make plays, even if Gase’s playcalling was predictable.

Bell also flopped with the Chiefs after the Jets released him in October, rushing for just 254 yards and two touchdowns on 63 carries in nine games with Kansas City. Yardage was even tougher for Bell to come by after he left New York, indicating the 29-year-old has indeed lost a step — even if he isn’t willing to admit it.

Bell did plenty of good things off the field while he was with the Jets, but he will ultimately be remembered as a free agent signing Mike Maccagnan never should have made. Gase deserves nearly all the blame for New York’s recent failures, but Bell never did much to make himself part of the solution.

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks wasted no time in Game 3 of their first-round matchup with the LA Clippers, and NBA Twitter erupted over their hot start.

Game 3 Friday night was arguably the biggest game in LA Clippers franchise history. After falling down 0-2 at home to the Dallas Mavericks, winning this road game was critical for a team that entered the 2021 NBA Playoffs with legitimate title aspirations.

Unfortunately for the Clippers, Luka Doncic and the Mavs came out laser-focused to put their opponent in another early hole.

Just over two minutes into Game 3, Dallas already had an 8-0 lead in its first playoff game at home since 2016 … and all eight points belonged to Doncic, who’s rapidly become a Clippers killer. As such, NBA Twitter could immediately smell the blood in the water, erupting over the early deficit and how frazzled LA looked.

NBA Twitter was eating it up as Luka Doncic went off on the Clippers yet again

For starters, we can’t go any further without acknowledging how much Doncic personally torments this LA team. The disrespect on these step-backs!

It was awesome seeing Doncic so fired up in front of a massive Mavs crowd at the American Airlines Center, and the home team quickly built up a 28-11 lead.

People quickly noticed how ruthless Doncic was as he repeatedly targeted poor Ivica Zubac on his step-backs.

Three Ivica Zubac switches, three Luka Doncic buckets. Mavs 8, Clippers 0 and a perhaps concerned Ty Lue calls timeout.

— Tim MacMahon (@espn_macmahon) May 29, 2021

Others couldn’t help but point out how the Clippers’ defensive strategy has had absolutely no answers for Doncic for the last two years now:

Clippers have had absolutely no clue how to stop Luka for two yrs now

— Chris Herring (@Herring_NBA) May 29, 2021

luka really don’t like them boys 😂

— Ja Morant (@JaMorant) May 29, 2021

Either way, there’s no question we are witnessing greatness from a superstar who’s still only 22 years old.

I mean, if Luka wants the be the best player ever, I would not object

— Josh Eberley🇨🇦 (@JoshEberley) May 29, 2021

LUKA ALREADY IN THAT MODE AND TALKING SHIT

— Ahmed🇸🇴/Mach Hommy’s Pray For Haiti AOTY (@big_business_) May 29, 2021

Luka is quickly moving up my favorite players list, this guy doesn’t make sense

— Jacob (AKA Rusty Buckets) (@RustyBUCKETS321) May 29, 2021

“Make Luka a scorer.”

/Luka later holds up the 100 sign

— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) May 29, 2021

It’s still early, and the Clippers went on a late first-quarter run to cut Dallas’ lead back down to single digits (with Doncic sidelined, of course), but there’s no question Luka’s early run was a memorable moment with LA on the ropes.

Her desi followers had a very unique take on the image. In short, the first thought that popped into many minds on seeing the photo was that they resembled the slippers that line up outside our homes when we host a prayer meeting or a satsang.

Losing no time, one user said that this looked like “every Indian house during satyanarayan pooja.”

It was not just prayer meetings and shoe sales, some also felt that the photo reminded them of the days they would go for tuition and line their slippers outside the class.
